Winemaker Notes
Representing change and movement, Migration offers our winemaking staff additional flexibility in the annual blending process for our Goldeneye brand. Over time we have found that we consistently declassify a large percentage of the production from each vintage in order to meet the high standards we have set. This philosophy of an uncompromising commitment to quality leaves us with a quantity of wine that is excellent, but not exceptional enough for the final Goldeneye blend. We have selected several of the most distinctive lots to be bottled as a second Pinot Noir under the name Migration. The label portraying a migration of Goldeneye ducks along the Pacific Coast is an original work of art by renowned wildlife artist David Maass.
